Trapt
Trapt
Trapt is an alternative band from Los Gatos, California. The band formed in 1995, after meeting in high school, with members: Chris Taylor Brown (vocalist), Simon Ormandy (guitarist), Peter Charrell (bassist) and David Stege (drummer) and recorded the albums 'Amalgamation' and 'Glimpse' to sell at local shows. After several rehearsal absences and negative feedback the band decided to let David go. While attempting to find a suitable replacement, the band signed to Warner Bros. Records and began recording their debut self-titled album. The band enlisted Robin Diaz, to perform drums on the record, and in turn Robin, helped the band find their permanent drummer, Aaron Montgomery.

On November 22nd, 2002, the band released Trapt, along with the single "Headstrong". "Headstrong" became a fantastic hit, reaching #1 on alternative charts and #16 on pop. Follow-up singles "Still Frame" and "Echo" (with a video featuring Michelle Trachtenberg) did respectably, although they never reached the heights of "Headstrong". "Headstrong" became the official theme song of WWE Bad Blood for June 2003. Trapt eventually hit platinum. After more than one year an EP followed on March 30th, 2004, that included a new song called "Promise" along with live versions of "Made Of Glass" and "Echo".

On September 13th, 2005, the band released their sophomore album "Someone In Control" along with the single "Stand Up". "Stand Up" failed to do as well as any of their previous singles, although it still made an excellent run on active rock stations. "Waiting" and "Disconnected (Out Of Touch)", were also released as singles, and have yet to repeat the success of any of Trapt's self-titled radio hits. The band spent the first half of 2006 co-headlining with Shinedown as part of the Equinox Tour.

A live album was released in September, 2007, containing live tracks from both previous albums with new studio tracks "Stay Alive" and "Everything to Lose".

Trapt hit the studio in July 2007 to begin recording their 3rd album, which was released on 5th August 2008 named "Only Through the Pain…".

Trapt announced in late fall/early winter 2009 they were working on a new album for summer or fall release in 2010. On July 20, 2010, Trapt released their first single "Sound Off," for the upcoming album "No Apologies," due out in stores October 12, 2010. Updates, along with an EPK, for the upcoming album is available on their Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube (official trapt) accounts.
The Cringe
Driven by the gutsy lead vocals and savvy songwriting of John Cusimano, The Cringe has been bringing their blend of politicized power pop and big-belt-buckle blare to fans across the country since 2004. The band's first two albums, Scratch the Surface and Tipping Point, tipped the neo-grunge scales towards the polished blast-pop of the Foo Fighters and The Vines, but within those melodic contours lurked the ragged heart of first-generation indie bands from the Minutemen to The Replacements.

That artful, aggressive dynamic has been pushed to the hilt on The Cringe's new third full-length album, Play Thing, which kicks The Cringe up several gears in creativity, cojones and killer instinct. Play Thing showcases some of the band's heaviest, headiest moments to date, including the prog-infused "Poison," the art-thrash excursion "Where It Hurts," and the album's first single, "No Control," with its whiff of Soundgarden psychedelia and early Pumpkins snarl.

Containing some of Cusimano's most mature songcraft to date—the cautionary tale "Give and Take" is a case in point—the album is the result of a painstaking writing process and a rigorous recording ethic, a creative collision of analog purists and digital renegades, both committed to creating the strongest possible album. Recorded with longtime engineer Steve Hardy (Vertical Horizon, The Upwelling), and with input from legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, XTC), Play Thing was anything but kid stuff in the studio.

"You wouldn't know it from the title," laughs Cusimano, "but, as fun as it could be, making Play Thing was definitely not always a playful process. We didn't let anything go until we were all 100% behind it, and that required a lot of extra sweat and tears. But we truly believe that the end result makes it all completely worth the effort."

The New York City band—whose members include lead guitarist James Rotondi (ex-Air, Mr. Bungle), bassist Jonny Matias (ex-Crash Moderns) and drummer Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live Band, Bruce Springsteen)—have been lauded both for their incendiary performances and top-flight musicianship: "Cusimano's infectious and insightful songwriting is the foundation for the band's dynamic mix of artful, harmonic power pop and raw, aggressive punk garage-band energy," enthused All Music Guide's review of the band's 2007 sophomore release, Tipping Point.

The band most recently recorded their first ep entitled 606 at the Foo Fighters Studio in Los Angeles with Producer John " Lou " Lousteau. The single " I won't be the One will be released along with a video mid September

[...] Off With Their Heads “Home” Minneapolis punk rockers Off With Their Heads release their latest album, “Home,” also celebrating their 10 year anniversary as a band this year. Though one of the most polished, concentrated efforts by the guys thus far, the singer Ryan Young hasn’t lost his punk angst. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune says “The harrowing first single, “Nightlife,” makes it sound as if Young outright fears the prospect of playing night after night (sample lyric: “I know I’m sick and I’m not right / I’m so [expletive] tired of living this life”). Young explained by phone, though, that the song is actually more about when he’s not on the road. “It can sort of freak you out when you go from playing 300 shows a year to being at home with someone who has to get up at 6 a.m. to go to work, and leads that normal kind of life,” Young explained, referring to his Los Angeles-based girlfriend of five years. Don’t miss these guys at Rams Head Live with Alkaline Trio and Bayside on May 17! [...]
